Preface
Because I have been a pastor for the last 20 years I tend to try and present things with an over-arching division so as to hope unspoiledy make them more unforgettable and enduring in the mind. So with that said I would kindred to riposte you my theme for the relationship that I see amid Paul and Timothy and then explain it as I deal with my topic of how 1 and 2 Timothy queer with Acts.

at present in order to understand that let me first give you a short recount of the relationship that existed between Paul and Timothy.
I. Introduction
Since the early 1700s scholars have called 1 & 2 Timothy and Titus the artless Epistles.
As early as Clement of Alexandria (155-220) these Epistles were acknowledged to be Pauls but in 1932 Ernest Findlay Scott from Union theological Seminary wrote The opinion is now almost unanimous among NT scholars that these Epistles, at least in their present form cannot be by Paul.



(The books of the New Testament) He denies complete Pauline authorship because of the musical mode and vocabulary, what he sees as a theological teaching that is various from Paul and because of the organizational instructions (ecclesiastical structure) in a sequence when Scott considerd there was no official ministry. Scott does believe that Pauline portions or fragments were included in these epistles.
I do not believe that this reasoning is valid or sufficient enough to skepticism Pauls authorship.
There is a vocabulary and flare that is unique to the Pastoral Epistles but it must also be understood that the intents and purposes of these Epistles are in themselves unique and that alone would take on for some of the hapax legomena.
